What My Business Looked Like Before Kyle Goldie’s Mastermind Program
When I joined, I had just defined my style and revamped my online portfolios. I was looking for something that would help take my business to the next level, and I was debating between an SEO/lead generation course, or an IPS course. I’d been doing IPS (in-person sales) for a number of years already, but I hate talking on the phone.
I came across a Kyle Goldie mentorship program review online, and I noticed that Kyle’s program promised strategies for getting more bookings through email only, which I found intriguing – and totally counter to what I originally thought I needed – which was to learn how to start making those phone calls! I decided if I could get better results from what I was basically already doing, while improving my SEO, that felt less intimidating, and easier to implement.

Why I Looked for a Photography Business Coach
You might be thinking, “But you can just Google SEO strategies!” And it’s true, there’s tons of info available online for free. But Google changes the rules every so often, and what used to work, might not work anymore, or worse, old advice might even hurt you now. So finding someone whose job it is to stay on top of these things, and help you sort the good advice from the bad, is super helpful. In fact, Kyle’s program will walk you through all the steps, and he keeps the content updated as the “best practices” change. And that’s just one part of this very extensive program.
The other reason I looked for a business coach, and not just an SEO course, is accountability. First of all, as humans if we pay for something, and someone is on the other end expecting us to show up, we are more likely to show up and do the work. Secondly, having someone available to answer questions that come up, or provide a little constructive criticism on where you can improve, or just to reassure you that you’re on the right path, can make all the difference in whether you actually get results or not.
What Kyle Goldie’s Mastermind Includes

Just a peek at what’s included:

Personally I loved having access to the coaching calls and hearing the questions other people asked. Sometimes I had the same question, or maybe they were ahead of me in the course, and Kyle’s answer helped clear up potential future confusion, or maybe they had a question about something I hadn’t even thought about.
One thing I didn’t expect was the content on goal setting, and also the focus on taking care of yourself. I’m ashamed to admit, I need to go back and have another look at the goal-setting section and actually implement it, but I was really impressed reading through it.
Being someone that has done a lot of work on personal development, I also loved the mindset component, and how Kyle openly shares about how he keeps his mind and body in shape in order to better handle everything that life and business throws at him. I think it’s important to mention in this Kyle Goldie coaching program review that the goal is not to hustle harder, it’s to set up systems that work for you, even while you’re taking weekends off, popping in to your kid’s school to see them get an award, or while you’re getting a well-earned massage after a wedding day.
What Changed in My Photography Business
My main goal was to work fewer sessions per year, without losing any income. I started in Kyle’s Mastermind on Aug 31, 2021, however as we were coming into fall and holiday busy season, I didn’t put much work into my website and systems until the winter downtime, starting in January 2022. So I feel like my 2021 year compared to those that followed is a pretty fair comparison for judging my results as I put in the work.
As you can see below, my income has increased slightly over the last few years, but the main difference is that I’m shooting 45% LESS sessions per year. Also, significantly more of my leads are coming from Google, which means they’ve likely spent time on my website, seen my work and starting price, and already know a little bit about me.
| year | income | number of sessions shot | percentage of leads from Google |
| 2021 (before Kyle) | $85,991 | 136 | 37% |
| 2024 (most recent full year at time of writing) | $92,735 | 75 | 48% |
I’m still working on dealing with my hundreds of blog posts titled “Oshawa Newborn Photographer” that I built up over 15 years of not knowing what I was doing, but that’s a story for another day…
These results may not seem that drastic to you, but let me tell you – I can FEEL the difference. Spending weekends with my family, booking multiple cottage weeks in the summer, not staying up until 3am every night trying to catch up on editing (then enter Imagen in my workflow as well, and BOOM – game changer!)
How Did I Get There?
- strategic price increase
- not working weekends
- including products or product credits in my collections
- return to in-person IPS instead of virtual (I had switched to Zoom reveals through the pandemic)
- fine-tuning my responses to inquiries
- set up a follow-up strategy
- setting up better workflows everywhere
- re-organizing and re-designing my website based on the structure recommended
- working on my SEO on my main pages and blog
- attending the coaching calls and asking for feedback, and listening to the feedback given to others to apply it to my own situation
Common Concerns about Kyle’s Coaching Program
FAQ style:
Question: “Is Kyle Goldie’s mastermind program only for wedding photographers?”
Answer: No, it’s not! Kyle’s program works for all types of portrait photographers, as well as wedding photographers, and even other vendors in the wedding/photography industries. There are many sections where he breaks down specific strategies for different genres, and if yours isn’t covered, ask for direction during a coaching call!
Question: “Do I need to be tech-savvy to implement what he teaches?”
Answer: Not at all! You can decide how much of the website design, blogging, and other changes you want to take on yourself. There is plenty of instruction available, especially for those using a ShowIt website template. Anything you don’t want to do (or don’t have time, don’t care to learn, etc.) you can hire Kyle and one of his “Done For You” services, or outsource in other ways. Personally I stuck with my ProPhoto template and did all the work myself, but it certainly would have been quicker to invest in one of Kyle’s templates or outsource some of the work.
Question: “Is it beginner-friendly?”
Answer: Yes and no. I wish I had this knowledge when I was just starting out, but I also don’t think I was in the right headspace at that point to really tackle the business side of things in this way (but I started before social media was even a thing, so take that with a grain of salt!) If you’re serious about wanting a sustainable business, no matter what stage you are at, I’d say you’re ready.
Question: “How long do I have access to the program?”
Answer: You’ll have lifetime access to the online course, and also be admitted into a private alumni community. Personally, I have gone back into the program numerous times, either to refresh my memory as I tackle website and blog updates, or to read updated information, or to review sections I only skimmed the first time through.
Question: “Is there 1:1 support or only group coaching?“
Answer: In the 3 month program you’ll have access to 3x weekly group coaching calls where you’re able to ask questions and receive 1:1 support in that environment. If you opt for the 6 month program, you’ll also receive two 1:1 calls, plus Kyle’s Instagram Growth and Travel Collaboration Courses.
Question: “Is it worth the price?”
Answer: If you’re willing to set goals, put in the work, attend the calls, and ask for help when you are stuck, I absolutely believe you will get your money’s worth. Like many things in life, you’ll get out of it what you put into it. I have seen photographers that have doubled or tripled their income, gone from hobbyists to full-time professionals, and people like myself that no longer feel like they constantly drowning.
Question: “Is Kyle Goldie legit?”
Answer: Kyle has many years of experience both in the photography industry (including fashion and weddings), as well as in coaching. He shares tons of testimonials from actual students, and even allowed me into the members’ group briefly before joining, in order to ask questions and have them answered by people currently going through the program.
You may find some reviews online saying they didn’t vibe with Kyle’s direct, sometimes blunt, style of delivering information, but if you can look at your business or work objectively you’ll see it’s all good advice. I suggest setting up a free discovery call to chat about how he can help you, then decide if you want to proceed.

Summary of my Kyle Goldie Coaching Program Review
If you’re a photographer looking for a proven roadmap to more consistent leads, higher-paying clients, and a business that doesn’t run you into the ground – Kyle Goldie’s mastermind is worth serious consideration.
What stood out most to me was the personalized support, the done-for-you keyword research, and the mindset focus that actually encouraged rest and boundaries. I’ve been able to reduce the number of sessions I shoot each year while keeping (and slightly increasing) my income, and more importantly, reclaiming time with my family.
This isn’t a magic bullet – you do need to put in the work. But if you’re ready to improve your website, SEO, offers, and workflow, and you want ongoing coaching that meets you where you’re at, Kyle’s program delivers.
